Robinson, Lucille Catherine age 88 years died July 8, 2024.
Born in Halifax, NS, Lucille was the daughter of the late Allan and Lucy (Roach) Robinson. She was a member of the Sisters of Charity of Halifax from 1953 to 1969. During that time, she taught school in Amherst, Boston, Halifax, North Sydney, and New Waterford. After receiving dispensation from her vows in religious life, Lucille taught in Hantsport NS, and the School for the Blind in Halifax. She retired from teaching in 1995.
Lucille loved music, especially choirs where she sang with a strong alto voice. She was a founding member of the NS Mass Choir. She also sang in the International Tattoo choir, the Dalhousie Chorale, St. Lawrence Church and Fairview United Church choirs.
As a long time church parishioner, Lucille was a lay reader and a faithful member of the Catholic Women's League of Canada. She also served as a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Lucille was passionate about painting and enjoyed taking classes to develop her artistic skills. Family members and friends were the recipients of some of her favorite pieces.
Lucille was predeceased by her brother Allen (Sonny) Robinson, niece Danette Robinson, and nephew Dan Robinson.
She is survived by nieces Karen Kosendowski and Mary Lawson, along with several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
Family burial will be held at the gravesite.
Family would like to thank the staff of the VG Hospital (9th Floor) for their compassionate care and kindness during the last few months of Lucille's life.
