Jean Ethel Corbett - 96, Bass River, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Wynn Park Villa, Truro.


Born in Montrose, she was a daughter of the late Alden and Pearl (Parr) Knight.


Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Corbett; son, Stanley Corbett; brothers, Louis (Joyce Timmons), Ross (Doris Langille), Edward (Cheryl Patterson).

Jean is survived by her daughter-in-law, Juanita; precious granddaughters, Jessica (Adam Raddatz), Danielle (Jeremy Smith); great granddaughter, Madisson Wright; sister-in-law, Doris;  several nieces and nephews.


Many will remember Jean from her time working as a clerk at Dominion Chair Company Store and actively volunteering with several Bass River community groups over the years. She had a love of all animals and enjoyed visiting the cottage, playing cards, gardening, quilting, crafting, baking and cooking. Above all, Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she was happiest when she was spending time with her family.


We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wynn Park Villa and Dr. Trevor Locke for the care and compassion shown to Jean and her family.


All are invited to attend a graveside committal at Riverside United Church Cemetery, 5577 Highway 2, Bass River at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Reception will follow at Victoria Hall, 5622 Highway 2 Bass River.


If so desired, donations in Jean’s memory to Portaupique Cemetery or Bass River Heritage Society are welcomed.
