It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our sister Jean on October 31, 2025. Jean passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer in a Hospice in Connecticut, USA.

Jean was born in Halifax and grow up in Spryfield and was the daughter of Jim and Gertrude Smith.

Jean married Paul Dionne from Armdale, Paul's career took them to Montreal and then to Connecticut where Jean and Paul raised their two daughters and Jean worked as a dental assistance for twenty years.

Jean is survived by her husband Paul Dionne of 40 years, daughters Rachael (Russ) and Danielle and three beautiful granddaughters Sophia, Josephine, and Penny. Also siblings Donna(Joe), Christoper, Brian (Jean), Patrick (Darlene), Sheila and Karen (Paul). and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Marnie and brother Jimmy.

On November 14th a funeral service will be held at St Michaels Church in Spryfield at 10am.
