Halifax, NS

July 11, 1931 - July 23, 2026

In Loving Memory of Stavroula (Beulah) Tsitouras.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beulah Tsitouras, who passed away peacefully in Athens, Greece on July 23, 2026.

Born July 11, 1931, in Xirokambi, Sparta, Greece, Beulah immigrated to Canada in 1954. She dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her community. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of so many.

Together with her beloved husband, (the late) Thanasis, they owned and operated the Astoria Restaurant and the Downtowner, where she became a familiar and cherished part of the Halifax community.

She was a woman of great strength, kindness, and devotion. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she gave countless hours of her time volunteering and supporting the Greek Orthodox Community of Halifax. Her presence, generosity, and dedication to her church and community will be deeply missed.

Beulah was predeceased by her parents, Kosta and Panagiota Karountzos; her brother, Dimitri Karountzos; her sister, Eleni Kapsalis; and her loving and devoted husband, Thanasis (Tom) Tsitouras.

She leaves behind her brother, Stratos Karountzos; her four loving daughters, Maria (Takis), Patricia (Paul), Vangie (Yanni), and Joanna; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her greatest joy was her family, and the love she gave them will remain with them forever. She will be remembered for her strength, kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and the love she so freely gave to everyone around her. Her smile brightened every room.

A 40-Day Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Halifax, following the Divine Liturgy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Beulah's memory.

May her memory be eternal.
