Allison Watson died peacefully on July 18, 2025 at the age of 38.
She is survived by her partner of 18 years, Isaiah Jacques, parents Dave and Donna Watson, brother David Watson (Cindy). Predeceased by her sister Amy Watson.
Allison was gifted with creativity and curiosity. From writing, sewing and crafts, photography, and experiments in the kitchen, she took pleasure in these small things and turned whatever she touched into something beautiful…or hilarious. She had a passion for books, nature, and a soul for adventure that took her from exploring her backyard to countries abroad.
An author, gardener, grand adventurer, daughter, sister, friend, partner, and cat mom to Skittles, she had the gift to see the humour in stressful situations while also thinking of others.
Allison tried many careers in her life, first as a Recreational Therapist for the Springhill Hospital, then as a Library Assistant at the Springhill and Mount Allison libraries, and lastly working with the Town of Amherst as Active Living Coordinator; Culture, Events and Marketing Coordinator and finally moving on to Community Health Navigator for Amherst and Cumberland County. Through all these roles she loved helping people, whether it was as tiny as recommending a good book or as important as attracting health care professionals.
.
Allison was born with cystic fibrosis and while it had a major impact on her life, she never let it define her or prevent her from doing the things she loved, be it kayaking down a river or biking across the country. In 2014 she was the recipient of a double lung transplant, which gave her a new appreciation on life, and allowed her to continue adventuring, creating, and fulfilling a long time goal of hiking Gros Morne mountain.
Nothing can truly describe the amazing person she was and if you were lucky to know her, you were truly blessed, Allison(Alley) was fiercely loved and her presence and light will be truly missed in this world.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
