Yarmouth, NS
November 8, 1946 - December 07, 2025
White, Emery Ray – age 79 of Yarmouth Co., NS passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on November 8, 1946 to the late Albert and Mary (Nickerson) White.
Fueled by his love of the sea and salt air, Emery was a fisherman most of his life. He owned several boats named the Dot & Dick and his last one is still on the water today. After his retirement from fishing, he sold boats for Tri-Nav for several years.
He loved being outside; mowing his lawn, whether needed or not, was one of his most recent hobbies. His garage is where he liked to spend his later days puttering and listening to music. He would then get the itch for a cruise and in the passenger seat he would go with the country music pumping. His outings shopping and socializing made him very happy.
The birds outside his window brought him hours of enjoyment as he sat in his favorite chair and watched them feed and flutter about.
Those closest to Emery called him Bud, Buddy, Bubba or Dad and he will be missed dearly by them all.
He is survived by his loving wife Esther, daughter Trudy (Jason) Thompson, sons Danny (Erinn) White, Jason (Sara) White, Sam (Amy) White and stepson Marc (Nuqlu) Prince-White. He is also survived by stepchildren Lisa, Tina and Cary; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 step grandchild; sisters Bonnie Doucet and Joy White, brothers Richard (June) White and Roy (Wendy) White and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Karen (Mooney) White.
The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the nurses on 3 South and 4 North at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their care and support during the last couple of weeks.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
