COLDWELL HUGHES, Maxine Elizabeth

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Maxine Elizabeth (Hughes) Coldwell, but we are also filled with joy as we remember the wonderful life she lived and the love she brought into our lives as a hunter’s wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend. 


Maxine passed peacefully, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at Valley Regional Hospital following a brief illness. 


She is predeceased by her parents Ernest and Geraldine (Northup) Hughes and sister Anne.

Leaving to mourn with many happy memories are her husband of 54 years, Blaine; puppy, Sarah; daughter, Tammy and grandsons, Joey, Caleb and their families; son, Troy (Valerie) and grandsons, Duncan and Thomas; sisters, Donna (Brian), Crystal (David), Joanie (Jamie) and a long list of extend family and friends.


Maxine was a proud member of the Kings County Wildlife Association (KCWA), as well as a lifelong member of the Wolfville Woman’s Missionary Service (WMS).


The family would like to thank the staff at Careforce and at Valley Regional Hospital for their support, kindness and compassion.


Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. A private family interment will take place in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
