Baddeck, NS
July 3, 1962 - October 5, 2024
We, the family of Lorelei Elizabeth Dixon, regret to announce her passing on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born July 3, 1962, in Baddeck, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel Winona (Donovan) Dixon.
Lori, as she was known to family and friends, was an incredible soul who leaves behind many friends, not only here in Baddeck and area, but across the world whom she connected with online, as well as members of the equine community across the Island, whom she met through her daughter, Ariel.
Always up for a chat or a story, she had a sharp wit and an amazing sense of humour, which she kept until the very end. She was stubborn and honest, speaking her mind on many topics close to her heart. If you went into Needs while she was working, you were sure to stay for a chat! Lori had a huge heart for animals, as well as a love of reading and music, something she shared with various family members.
Lorelei is survived by her daughter, Ariel Dixon; son-in-law, Mitchel Fraser; grandchildren, Archer, Riley and Willow Fraser; brothers, Rollie and Parker Dixon; sisters-in-law, Laura and Wanda Dixon; nieces, Ashley Seely (Matt) and Charley Dixon; as well as step-nephews, Randy Yorke, Danny McCulley, and Sandy McCulley; and various extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as her niece, Terri Dixon. Lorelei also leaves behind her special canine friend, Abby, with whom she had a very special bond.
The family would like to thank the staff of Victoria Country Memorial Hospital, Dr. Genge, Dr. Ritter, the incredible nursing staff, and special nurse, Sally MacDonald. We are incredibly grateful for the care, compassion and dignity shown to Lori in her final days.
Cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
