HORVATH, Julius

Waverley, NS

June 9, 2024

Julius Horvath passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on June 8, 2024 at the age of 71 following a short journey with cancer. He enjoyed life to the fullest!

He was born in Hungary, raised in Lavington, BC, lived in Spruce Grove, AB and moved to Nova Scotia in 2016 where he resided in Waverley.

Julius had a great sense of humour and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He took pride in his landscaping while ensuring a welcoming natural space for all of God's creatures.  He experimented with planting fruit trees and grape vines and eagerly watched them bear fruit.

Julius enjoyed travelling to his homeland to visit his Croatian/Hungarian relatives, visited many countries and loved his escapes with Bernadette in the trailer to the lake. No one could ever get a campfire roar like Julius.

Julius was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by Bernadette (Fougere), his wife of 38 years, and his sister Marika (Hrvoje) Poljicak.  He was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews and loved by his extended family and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents Steve and Anna Horvath.

A Celebration of Life and prayers will be held at Dartmouth Funeral Home located at 29 Queen Street, Dartmouth on Tuesday, June 11 at 3:30 pm followed by a reception.

Interment will take place at a later date at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Vernon, BC.
