Lamey, Guy Joseph

August 29, 1954 — June 5, 2025

We the family regret to announce the passing of Guy Joseph Lamey, age 70, on June 5, 2025 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Guy was a lifelong resident of New Victoria. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Lorraine (Ratchford) Lamey.

He is survived by his brother Brian (Maria) and sister Anita Zemlyak (Frank, deceased). Guy is also survived by his nieces Michele Tabensky (Kevin Sheppard), Christina Lamey and Patrick (Lana) Lamey.

Grand-nieces Madelyn, Claire and Taylor. Guy is also survived by his former wife Maureen Fry.

Guy was an employee of Devco and later a member of the Labourer’s Union of Alberta. He was an avid biker. He loved his Harley and travelled widely. He had made many lasting friendships in the biker community.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care team, Dr. Andrew Giorno and the VON for their care and kindness. Thank you also to Father Norman MacPhee.
