BJ was a free spirit and loved her “Dash” to her own musical beat. She loved 4 wheeling, camping, a wide range of music, a dancefloor, a smoke and a beer. If there was a party or adventure to be had, you can bet she was game.
Throughout the last few years, she struggled with a disease she often conquered. She fought a long 7-year battle with breast cancer, that was both physically and mentally challenging. It was a true-life rollercoaster of ups and downs.
BJ is survived by her mother and continuous rock, Sharon Lane (Boudreau/Rafuse); sister, Natasha Lane (Dougie Tufts); daughter, “her Chickie Poo” Ashton Lane-Ritchie (Grand-daughter to be); grandmother, Betty Rafuse (Bett); her fur family, Thumper (cat), Makito (Dog) and many much-loved family and friends.
She is predeceased by many that she cared for but most touched by the loss of her godmother, Hulda; great grandmother, Evelyn Atwood; and beloved father, David Lane, who I know welcomed her with a beer and a hug.
We would like to thank Dr. Frank Lo, Dr. Michael Diab and Dr. Bruce Caldwell for the years of excellent care, support, for never giving up and gifting her with many added years when the diagnosis was 6 months. Her palliative team and two amazing Dr’s we meet along the journey, Dr. Kirk Magee and Dr. Francis Bakewall who were gems. We would also like to thank friends and family, especially special Aunt & Uncle Bobby (Godfather) & Marlene Lane and longtime childhood friend Melissa Michalko, who were there until the very end. You have all helped make this journey as serene and stressless as possible.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please bring your favorite photo and/or a story to be put in a keepsake box to share with her grand daughter.
Donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
