It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Joy Elizabeth MacLean (née Kelly), announce her peaceful passing on October 2, 2025, at Celtic Court in Sydney.

Born in Sydney on September 1, 1954, Joy was the daughter of the late Gordon and Betty Kelly (Tatlock).

Left to mourn her passing are her children Kenneth (Nicole) and Dana; grandchildren Brendon (Joni), Holly, Kelsey, and Lorne; and great-grandchildren Naomi and Wrenley MacLean. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Ellie and Everett; sisters Sharon (Eric) and Linda (Marshall); and brothers Jimmy and Keith Kelly. Joy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Joy was predeceased by her parents; her sister Brenda; and nephews Carl, David, and Adam.

Throughout her career, Joy worked with Sobeys in New Waterford and at The Store in New Waterford, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and warm smile.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Joy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Celtic Court for their exceptional care and compassion. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
