The family of Kevin Roderick MacLeod regrets to announce his death on February 1, 2024 at the IMCU of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Halifax after a four-year period of declining health.
Kevin was born on January 13, 1983 in Scarborough, Ontario to father Malcolm MacLeod and mother Mary Ritcey-MacLeod. He and his family moved to Nova Scotia in 1990. He was a roofer for over 20 years, operating his own company for 10 years. In his youth, he enjoyed playing, hockey, softball, and tennis. In adult life, he enjoyed driving his ATV, camping, country music, his pet cats, flying his recreational drones and cheering for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved his daughters, his son, his mother and father, his sister and her family and his grandmother.
Kevin is predeceased by his mother Mary, his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Margaret Ritcey and his paternal grandfather, Malcolm MacLeod. He is survived by his father, his daughters Janea and Lauryn, his son Ethan, his sister Alison (Jerome) Landry and her children Nora, Oliver and Cameron, his paternal grandmother Sadie MacLeod, uncles Charles Ritcey and Andrew Ritcey, several cousins and several friends in his Halifax neighbourhood.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of the IMCU for the kindness and care they provided Kevin in his final days and to Dr Trixie Gregoire for her care and compassion for Kevin over the past 15 years, as he struggled with his health.
Cremation has occurred. There will be a celebration of Kevin’s life in the spring, followed by internment.
