December 02, 1958 - December 19, 2025
It is with great sorrow that the family of Dwight Harley Cleveland of Western Shore, NS announce his sudden passing on December 19, 2025 at the age of 67.
Dwight was always one to make fast friends. He had a nickname for just about everyone and loved to stop and chat or tell you a story. Dwight had a soft spot in his heart for so many and would be quick to give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He was notorious for being a “picker” finding treasure in what others saw as trash and he was always willing to pass it on to someone who saw its value like he did.
Dwight was a longstanding member of the Ironworkers Union, having started as a steel placer at 17 years old. He worked alongside his father and brothers on many notable construction projects around the Maritimes, such as the Confederation Bridge, and also contributed to projects in Puerto Rico.
In his youth, Dwight was a talented athlete, playing baseball and most notably hockey, where he was part of the championship winning high school team. Dwight loved to watch hockey whether live or on TV and he loved to talk about the latest game with anyone who would listen.
Dwight is survived by his daughter Tabi, who he loved so deeply, and his mother Leonore. He was predeceased by his father Harley and sister Natalie (Eugene). Dwight is also survived by his brothers Wayde (Odette) and Troy (Trina), nieces and nephews Shane (Aleida), Chantel, Carissa (Kevin), Kyle (Julie) and Klay (Madison) and great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his special step-children Tiffany and Taylor (Jenna) and his granddaughter McKenna.
Donations can be made in Dwight’s memory to Bonny Lea Farm, The Ark or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are being made to lay Dwight to rest. Details will be made available at a later date.
