August 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randolph "Randy" James Whynot on August 19, 2025 at the age of 54.
Randy grew up in Middleton NS. Over the years, Randy worked many construction jobs and was a maintenance worker at NSCC. He was most proud to serve his Queen as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Randy is survived by his wife Shelby (Snyder) of Bridgewater, step son Kyle Snyder (Rose), Bridgewater, daughter Melanie Whynot, Kentville, parent in laws Allen and Gail Snyder (Endersby), Bridgewater, sister in law Karen Hanhams (Donnie), Bridgewater, mother Patricia Elliott (Balcom), Spa Springs, sister Jennifer Whynot(Philip), Middleton, nephew Owen Fremeau (Mia), Middleton, nieces, Kelsey Doucette (John and great niece Ella), Middlewood, Abigail Doucette(Jordan), Newcombville, Brooklyn Doucette(Dawson), Caledonia, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his father Frank Whynot, grandparents Chester and Olga(Conant) Balcom and Charles and Lillian (Tiller) Whynot, Uncle Ricky Balcom, Aunt Jean (Whynot) Tattersall and step father Dale (Jim) Elliott.
Randy’s family and pets were his world. Sophie (cat) and Mylah (dog) are feeling his loss as much as his family are.
Randy was passionate about his family and pets, travel, genealogy, and Tae Kwon Do. He loved heavy metal music but also loved his 60’s and 70’s classics too. He would always make us laugh with his Ric Flair impression—WOOO. Everyone knew the way to Randy’s heart was with anything sweet, especially something homemade. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. There are so many people who sincerely touched Randy’s life and we would like to thank them all.
Memorial service will be held 1:00pm Friday September 5, 2025 in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, with a celebration of life to follow at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall, Bridgewater.
Randy had two charities that he cared deeply about, therefore memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, or Wellspring Christian Community Outreach, 19 Fire Hall Road, New Germany.
